Most school kids use internet for entertainment, some use it for enhancing their knowledge but a minuscule minority use it for doing something worthwhile.
Suhas Gopinath(born November 4, 1986) is an young Indian entrepreneur. He is the founder, CEO, and Chairman of Globals Inc., an IT multinational company.At the age of 14 he was recognized as the worlds youngest certified Professional Web-developer through his project coolhindustan.com.by CNBC and e-Business, Canada. With this at the age of 17 he
was recognized as the World's Youngest CEO by leading Medias across the
globe including BBC, Washington Times, The Age, etc., including Limca Book of
Records. He is also designated as the resource person for Entrepreneurship at
IIM Ahmadabad, and Advisory Board member at IIT Bombay Entrepreneurship
Cell.
"My elder brother provided me money to use the net at Internet cafes. With the help of books I learnt how to create a website at the age of 14. I was successful and started getting contracts from US based companies in 2000. Then I never looked back," Gopinath said while interacting with the media at Institute of Management Technology ( IMT)."I did not get any support from parents. My father was in the Indian army. He wanted me to do engineering and MBA and get a good job. He believed entrepreneurship was not middle class' cup of tea. However, I went ahead," he said.
Now, at 25, Gopinath heads a multimillion dollar company having presence in US and several European companies. His company's revenue in 2010-11 from Indian operations was around Rs55 crore. He employs 150 persons in India and 50 in foreign countries.His company designed websites until 2007-08 when he decided to provide to software solutions to education and health care sectors. "I have helped universities in automating their examination system. I have also worked for Indian government in Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan," he said.
"I used to surf and read up a lot on Microsoft and Dell. Bill Gates is my icon," he says.
hope he will give wings to India's development and inspire youths all over the world.
